Connect an MCP-compatible AI agent to Utin at https://app.utin.no/mcp. Your agent will open a browser so you can sign in to Utin and approve the connection. You do not need to create or copy an API key.
What you’ll achieve
Your agent will be able to use supported Utin tools for publishing, conversations, automations, analytics and advertising. It can only work with the companies, workspaces and accounts your Utin user can access.
Before you start
You need:
- A Utin account
- An AI agent that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth
- A browser for the Utin sign-in and approval step
1. Add the Utin MCP server
Use these connection details in your agent:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | utin |
| Server URL | https://app.utin.no/mcp |
| Transport | Streamable HTTP or HTTP |
| Authentication | OAuth |
Codex
Run these commands in your terminal:
codex mcp add utin --url https://app.utin.no/mcp
codex mcp login utin
In the Codex app or IDE extension, you can instead open Settings → MCP servers, add a Streamable HTTP server with the URL above, then select Authenticate. See the official Codex MCP documentation for current client instructions.
Claude Code
Run these commands in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http utin https://app.utin.no/mcp
claude mcp login utin
You can also run /mcp inside Claude Code and complete authentication from there. See the official Claude Code MCP documentation for current client instructions.
Other AI agents
Open the agent’s MCP or integrations settings. Add a remote Streamable HTTP server using the Utin URL above, then choose its sign-in or authentication action. The client must support OAuth for remote MCP servers.
2. Sign in and approve access
Your agent opens Utin in a browser. Sign in as the Utin user whose permissions fit the work you want the agent to do, check the requested connection and approve it.
The connection uses that user’s current access to companies, workspaces and features. For example, a user without advertising permission does not gain it through MCP.
3. Check the connection
Ask the agent to show what it can access:
List the companies, workspaces and connected accounts available to you in Utin.
Choose a company and workspace from the response before asking the agent to publish, reply, report or change a campaign.
4. Connect your social and advertising accounts
If an account you need is missing, open Add Connections in Utin and connect or reconnect it there. Complete the provider sign-in in Utin, then ask the agent to list the accounts again.
5. Start with a task that only reads data
Use a request that confirms the selected workspace before anything changes:
In [workspace name], summarize the connected accounts and the latest available performance. Do not publish, reply or change any campaign.
When you are ready to make a change, name the company, workspace, account and desired result. Ask the agent to show you the planned action before it carries it out.
Manage or disconnect access
Open Account → View profile → Connected AI apps in Utin to see or disconnect an agent. You can also sign out or remove the server from the agent itself.
Disconnecting an MCP app does not remove your social or advertising connections from Utin, and it does not affect separate personal API keys.
If something does not work
- The browser does not open: copy the sign-in URL shown by the agent and open it in your browser.
- The agent says authentication is required: run its MCP login or authenticate action again.
- A workspace is missing: check that the signed-in Utin user belongs to the company and has access to that workspace.
- An account is missing: check its status under Add Connections, then ask the agent to refresh the list.
- You connected the wrong user: disconnect the app under Connected AI apps, then connect again with the intended Utin user.
